Katie's Bike will be growing this year. But, in terms of business, the term 'growth' freaks us out. We'd like to grow the brand, but only to become something we're really proud of. That means, recycling more chains, designing better products for life (and helping other new designers do the same) AND supporting a bigger safer cycling community.
We also want to keep our priorities straight. Working 12 hours a day 7 days a week was ok for a bit but isn't sustainable. So, we are taking this show on the road so we can do more of what we love, and work on this brand at the same time. In summary, the pillars of our Business Plan 2015 are as follows:

Mission & Values
The mission of Katie's Bike is to re-purpose used bike bits to create beautiful bespoke products. Our grand vision is to save all bicycle waste from landfill.
We love cycling, recycling, the environment, our health, organic farming, our dog Izza, handmade, small business, creativity, tiny houses, surfing, juicing and an ever growing community of new friends (traditionally called colleagues, customers and suppliers).
This year our target market will be PLU's (people like us). We'll be meeting loads of cyclists, surfers and campers. There's no specific age or gender. Our customers simply share our values and think they know someone who'd love some bike chain bling.
Having tried paid advertising, with little/no success, we are focusing on marketing by word of mouth. We will be handing out way more 'samples' this year to spread the brand name to new people. The most successful sales avenue for us in online sales, through our website and other e-commerce sites. This year, we are primarily focusing on new e-commerce outlets, both new and established. We also wholesale to gift shops and bike shops and are always open to enquiries (please email email@example.com). Finally we love setting up our stall and selling at markets and events and will be picking these up and incorporating them into our tour as we go.
